Sweet Tooth Season 2 Gets Debut Date At Netflix, New Photos

Sweet Tooth season 2 gets a premiere date on Netflix, plus new photos. Based on the graphic novels of the same name by Jeff Lemire, and developed by showrunner Jim Mickie, Sweet Tooth became a hit when it debuted in June 2021. The fantasy drama unfolds in a post-apocalyptic world that’s impacted by a strange and deadly virus. As all this is happening, a hybrid of half-humans and half-animal babies are born that are regarded with suspicion and outright hatred. The series, which won a Children’s and Family Emmy Award, garnered largely positive reviews and was quickly renewed for season 2.

The new photos, which can be viewed above, highlight moments from the upcoming eight-episode installment. The photos showcase Nonso Anozie as Jepperd and Dania Ramirez as Aimee. Amie Donald as Maya Monkey is also featured, along with George Ferrier as Jordan and Stefania LaVie Owen as Becky. Christian Convery is also back in the lead role of Gus.

What To Expect From Sweet Tooth Season 2

Based on the Sweet Tooth season 2 synopsis provided by Netflix, the upcoming episodes will see a deadly new wave of the Sick emerge. As this happens, Gus and a group of fellow hybrids are held prisoner by General Abbott (Neil Sandilands) and the Last Men. In his effort to gain and keep power by finding a cure, Abbott uses the children as fodder for the experiments of fellow prisoner Dr. Aditya Singh (Adeel Akhtar). Singh has his own very personal motivations, however, as he’s looking to save his infected wife Rani (Aliza Vellani)

In order to protect his friends, Gus will agree to help Singh in Sweet Tooth season 2. This will begin Gus’s dark journey into his origins, in addition to what role his mother Birdie (Amy Seimetz) had with The Great Crumble. Convery will have an even more emotionally interesting portrayal in the upcoming episodes, as the young actor has already received a bevy of praise for his performance in the Netflix show’s first outing.

Elsewhere in Sweet Tooth season 2, and outside the Preserve, Tommy Jepperd (Anozie) and Aimee Eden (Ramirez) team up to break the hybrids free. This partnership will be put to the test, with Jepperd’s secrets coming to light. All in all, continuing from the surprises of the previous episodes, the second outing of the Netflix hit show will have a lot to offer, both with expanding the characters and deepening the world.
