Shazam! Fury of the Gods Trailer: This Is A MUCH Bigger DC Movie

Warner Bros. Pictures releases the latest Shazam! Fury of the Gods trailer, starring Zachary Levi as the titular hero. As the DCU (formerly known as the DCEU) is heading for many changes, 2023 will still have multiple installments coming out. One of them is Shazam! Fury of the Gods, which continues the story of Bily Batson and his adoptive family. Levi is once again back as Shazam, while Asher Angel portrays the teenage version of the DC icon. Shazam! Fury of the Gods was initially set to come out in 2022 but got pushed back to 2023, and is currently set to release in March.

As Shazam! Fury of the Gods is getting closer to its theatrical release, Warner Bros. Pictures is pushing the marketing for the DCU movie. With roughly two months left to go, the studio has released the final Shazam! Fury of the Gods trailer ahead of its release, which can be seen below:

Director David F. Sandberg had previously revealed on Twitter that a new trailer was expected towards the end of this month. The footage gives the latest looks at the Shazam Family and their upcoming superhero adventure.

Everything Revealed In The Shazam! Fury Of The Gods Trailer

The Shazam! Fury of the Gods trailer goes deeper into the larger conflict that will arise between the family and the Daughters of Atlas. While the first trailer did go a little bit into their motivations, the latest footage better depicts the trouble they will cause to the world. One of the biggest takeaways is that the Daughters of Atlas are not thrilled with children having been given godlike powers. It is also becoming evident that the villains are able to easily take away the Shazam Family’s super-forms and revert them back to normal.

While Shazam! was big in itself, the Shazam! Fury of the Gods trailer shows that the sequel was made on an even larger scale. With the additions of dragons and various mythical creatures, it’s clear that Warner Bros. Pictures upped the budget for the Shazam! sequel. Given that the new film will see more of the Shazam Family in action, there are multiple shots of them getting to take part in the larger battles. While it’s unclear how Djimon Hounsou’s character is back, Shazam does get a bigger spotlight in the new trailer. As Billy asks to have his powers taken back, Shazam isn’t thrilled that his champion wants to give up.

As stressed by Sandberg and Levi previously, Shazam! Fury of the Gods is stepping it up for the sequel. Given the large Shazam mythology that the DCU can pull from, the sequel is taking advantage of fleshing out the live-action iterations of these characters. What will be fun to see is the ensemble back together – both between the kids and the adults – since the other heroes didn’t show up until the end of the last Shazam! movie. With less than two months to go, Shazam! Fury of the Gods is already looking incredibly promising.
